1. WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE VALLEJO LAMPLIGHTER AND WHAT IS ITS PURPOSE?
The Vallejo Lamplighter was created by a group of concerned citizens from various parts of the City of Vallejo. They are volunteers who have donated their time and effort to provide the Vallejo Neighborhood Watch groups a tool that can keep the city safer and well informed.

3. HOW CAN I DONATE TO THE VALLEJO LAMPLIGHTER?
Make your checks and money orders payable to: The Vallejo Lamplighter, 505 Santa Clara St., Vallejo, CA 94590. You will receive a receipt for donating to a non-profit organization, and the Vallejo Lamplighter staff wishes to thank you for your kindness and generosity.
4. HOW CAN I WRITE AN ARTICLE FOR THE VALLEJO LAMPLIGHTER?
Write your article (electronic submissions are preferred, with not more than 600 words); submit it to your block watch captain or your quadrant leader, who will then transmit it to the Vallejo Lamplighter. The article will then be reviewed by our staff, and you will be notified if it will be published.
5. WHAT ORGANIZATION IS THE VALLEJO LAMPLIGHTER AFFILIATED WITH?
The Vallejo Lamplighter is affiliated with the Vallejo neighborhood watch groups. The newsletter was designed as a tool to increase awareness, provide information and increase participation in the Vallejo community watch groups.
6. HOW MANY PUBLICATIONS DOES THE VALLEJO LAMPLIGHTER ISSUE?
The Vallejo Lamplighter currently publishes its newsletter on a quarterly basis. The goal is to increase the frequency of the publication as demand increases in Vallejo and surrounding communities.
7. WHY WAS THE VALLEJO LAMPLIGHTER CREATED?
The Vallejo Lamplighter was created to provide information to the neighborhood watch groups in Vallejo. It was also intended to help organize the efforts of the watch groups by dividing the city‘s watch group into four main groups called quadrants (for further information click on A-Four Quadrant Framework for Advocacy and Change) These quadrants can provide information to the newsletter to help everyone in the city know what is occurring in the surrounding neighborhoods. This can give our citizens in the community an advantage by being prepared as they see crime trends shift and change in their areas; they can be prepared for what lies ahead.
8. IS THE VALLEJO LAMPLIGHTER PART OF FIGHTING-BACK PARTNERSHIP?
No. The Vallejo Lamplighter is a tool for the neighborhood watch groups in the City of Vallejo. Fighting-Back Partnership has volunteered on a temporary basis to help the Vallejo Lamplighter until it is established and self-sustaining.
9. HOW LONG HAS THE VALLEJO LAMPLIGHTER BEEN IN EXISTENCE?
The Vallejo Lamplighter began in October 2010 as the result of the leadership training provided by Fighting-Back Partnership. It was intended to provide the neighborhood watch groups with a means to stay updated on crime latest trends in Vallejo, and to better communicate among each other. For further details see (link).
